Born and raised in Virginia, Kimberly Ray has dedicated this site to her part-time adventures in poetry and music. She insists it is her upbringing that allows her to dream while maintaining a semblance of responsibility.

Her poetry work spans across 20 years from topics including relationships, travel, nature, and self reflection. Her first book, Coffee Shop Sessions: Whatever It Takes Even If It Doesn’t Take, debuted in 2018 with a focus on 5 various themes. The follow on released in early 2020 was an attempt to create a sequel in the series, not realizing there was another installment in the series waiting to be written.

After much encouragement in her work, she was published in Clay Literary’s RAVEN magazine, 3 Moon Magazine, The Daily Drunk Mag, and Teen Belle Magazine. She was also the recipient of the First Place award in the Loudoun County Rhyme-On poetry contest in the Love category in 2020. Her latest book, the third installment in the Coffee Shop Sessions series, was released in January 2021. Since then she has been published and is forthcoming in multiple anthologies, such as:
